Since 2000, the Pantone Color Insititute will select a
color to represent the year every year, and it’s called “color of the year”.

There are millions and millions of color in the world, just like there are different kind of flower species.
Beside the color can represent the year, a scent can also represent the year. Psychologically smells trigger to our vivid memories, it's closely linked with our memory, probably more so than any of our other senses. So I believed using scent to represent the year will be more suitable.
